Surgery Update

The surgery was a success.
Grace's surgery was longer than expected, but it went well. I had read that it would take 4-5 hours, but our doctor only anticipated an hour and a half. It took about two. Regardless, it was a hard wait!
She is resting in the hospital room now. She's in and out of sleep. And has little cries of pain and discomfort in between. Poor thing.
They have her on pain meds that are helping considerably.
We have been put in isolation, due to her Chinese Hospital stay. Nice! But luckily we can still have visitors. All the nurses have to wear cute little yellow tear away gowns and gloves. They are cute, but the nurses in China wear these fancy little pink 'old school' nurse outfits and pink nurse hats. They always looked very fashionable. They never touch the patients, so there's no fear of getting them dirty!
We've been so impressed with the thorough care of the doctors and nurses at Childrens Mercy. It is much different than what we've experienced in the past.
Her little stoma is gone, or as Anna would say, her "strawberry."
