Just wanted to let you know, that after being on 4 different flights, for a total of 20 hours...we have arrived in Guilin, China. Anna was such a trooper. She did great! Yesterday we arrived in Guilin and were all exhausted. We went out to a nice lunch, where we got to pick out our live catfish...then shortly it was served on our plate! Can't get any fresher than that!
Today we will be going on the Li River Cruise and moving to our Dragon Retreat in Yangshou. I think tonight we have a chinese acrobat show as well. Anna crashed, at lunch yesterday, and slept the remainder of the day. She is up and well rested now. Although Anna was asleep, we carried her to Elephant Rock and to the park in front of the pagodas. So we did get to do some sightseeing as well. I stayed in the room with Anna, and the other Johnsons (Tom x 2 & Kitsy) watched our Waterfall Hotel get covered in water (nightly show) and then did some strolling around the city square. Anna and I were snuggled in bed...it was nice!
It's 4:43 p.m. for you, but 5:43 A.M. for us. We get to enjoy our first Chinese breakfast in an hour or so, then we'll meet downstairs, bags in hand, for our river tour.
I was looking forward to seeing people doing Tai Chi in the city square, outside our hotel. But it's rainy, so currently there's no one out there. Or maybe because it's not even 6 a.m. Either way, the square is deserted.
We are here, and our journey has begun! Bring on the adventure!
